Earlier today (Saturday) Newtownabbey Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out an operation in response to community concerns over scramblers.

As a result, a number of people had their scramblers seized.

Police say they have the powers to deal with people who use their vehicles in such a manner that is likely to cause distress or indeed, use the vehicle without insurance.

They are reminding potential offenders that both can result in prosecution.
