Wag Coleen Rooney pretended that her £20 million mansion had flooded to call out Rebekah Vardy for allegedly selling fake stories about her to The Sun.
Coleen who is 33, released a social media statement aimed at Rebekah Vardy, revealing how she set up this elaborate sting on Instagram. Her revelation captured social media users, leading to Vardygate and to the use of the hashtag Wagatha Christie. Pregnant Rebekah claimed she didn’t need the money and pointed out that other people have had access to her Instagram account.
Rebekah has claimed to have hired a team of forensic IT experts to prove she was not selling Coleen’s private stories. She has cut short a holiday to Dubai.
Vardy has criticised internet trolls who have wished her unborn baby would die in the wake of the scandal.
