Streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music are today holding moments of silence in memory of George Floyd who died in the USA.
Special playlists, silence, and social media blackouts form part of today’s campaign.
It is aimed at protesting against police violence and racism as well as remembering George Floyd, whose death has prompted people to demonstrate and riot.
The 8 minute and 46-second period of silence is equal to the time a former Minneapolis police officer allegedly pinned Mr Floyd down by the neck with his knee.
Mr Floyd’s relatives have called for calm.
