Tour operator and airline Thomas Cook has cancelled all flights and holidays after it announced its collapse into administration.
Around 22,000 jobs are at risk.
As many as 150,000 holidaymakers are stranded abroad while others have turned up to airports this morning expecting to go on holiday.
“We have not been able to secure a deal to save our business,” Chief executive of Thomas Cook Group, Peter Fankhauser said to the company’s ‘heartbroken’ staff and customers.’
The UK Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement on Sunday night: “All Thomas Cook bookings, including flights and holidays, have now been cancelled.”

The group operates a fleet of 85 Airbus jets and 31 Boeing jets, or a total of 116 aircraft based across Europe, according to data from UK-based aviation consultancy IBA.
Thomas Cook Group, including the UK tour operator and airline, has ceased trading with immediate effect.
