Two adults and two children were left badly shaken after three men armed with shovels rummaged their way through their house in the early hours of this morning.
The burglary occurred at the house in the St Vincent Street area of north Belfast this morning (Saturday 14 September) just before 3am.
Nothing was taken and, police say, thankfully, no one was injured.
“However, this was a terrifying ordeal for the two adults and two children who were in the house at the time and who have been left badly shaken,” said Detective Constable Watts.
It’s believed the men may have made off in a black Peugeot.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“We are appealing to anyone with information, or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area early this morning, to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 256 of 14/09/19.
“Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added Detective Constable Watts.
