Two men have been arrested in Carnmoney on suspicion of trying to break into cars.
It’s the latest in a string of incidents around Carnmoney and Glengormley. In recent weeks, properties have been broken into and householders have disturbed intruders.
At around 3:30am this morning (Sunday) police received a report of two men trying to break into cars on the Carnmoney Road.
Both men were quickly detained by officers in Liscoole Park and have been arrested on suspicion of numerous offences.
And police said they wanted to thank the resident for their prompt call.
“I would like to thank the resident who called this in. I cannot emphasise how vital it is to get these reports as soon as we did,” said a spokesperson.
Householders are asked to check their homes and cars this morning.
“I would also appeal to any residents in the area to check their cars and properties this morning. If you believe that anyone has attempted to gain entry to your car or home overnight, please let us know as soon as possible.
“And finally, if you think that you can assist with this investigation in any way, please give us a call on 101 and quote reference number 225 of 30/3/19,” added the spokesperson.
