Two men in their 50s are being treated in hospital for serious head injuries following a serious assault in Holywood.
A 54-year-old man is being questioned by detectives following the incident which occurred outside a bar on Hibernia Street at around 11pm last night (Friday).
It’s understood the injured men were attacked by a single assailant. They sustained serious head injuries and are currently being treated in hospital.
The suspect was detained by police at a nearby filling station shortly after the attack. He remains in custody this morning.
Detective Sergeant Lauren Edwards said there was a large crowd in the area at the time and she appealing to those people who were there and who may have witnessed what happened to please get in touch.
