A new Netflix documentary depicting one of the most horrific massacres of The Troubles is airing on Netflix.
Remastered: The Miami Showband Massacre will examine the search for justice while examining allegations of collusion between the army and the gunmen.
Remastered delves into the stories behind some of the most memorable moments in musical history.
Directed by Stuart Sender, this episode will focus on the killing of three members of the Miami Showband in 1975.
On 31 July 1975, five members of the band were travelling by minibus back to Dublin from a gig in Banbridge.
In Newry, they were stopped at a supposed military checkpoint by gunmen dressed in uniform, who ordered them to get out and line up by the roadside.
The gunmen were members of the Ulster Volunteer Force.
Two gunmen hid a time bomb on the minibus, but it exploded prematurely and killed them. The remaining gunmen then opened fire on the band members, killing O’Toole, McCoy and Geraghty.
Des Lee from was blown off his feet into a ditch, but was able to raise the alarm after he was taken to Newry police station by a couple who were passing in their car. Stephen Travers was badly injured in the incident.
