Over the past three and a half decades, Primal Scream have embraced everything from psychedelic pop to rock’n’roll, rave to industrial gloom. They have even made records with Kate Moss. Throughout it all, they have always sounded like Primal Scream. And they have always made excellent singles.

Friendsical – a parody musical about Friends will be at the Millennium Forum in Londonderry from August 28 to 31. This is an original and unique new parody musical inspired by the gang in Friends, the iconic TV show.

Kate Adie, CBE will help launch Lagan Valley Island Arts Centre’s sixth annual autumn event programme.
She will be speaking on Women on the Home Front in WW1- their legacy on October 1.
Kate Adie is an international war correspondent and renowned author. Her 2013 publication Fighting On The Home Front: the Legacy of Women in World War One, explored the way in which women’s lives changed during World War One.

Sow, Grow, Eat – A Herb Workshop will take place on September 27, hosted by Montalto Estate in Ballynahinch.
Members of the gardening team will discuss what herbs are growing, how we cultivate and propagate them, what herbs can be used in existing borders and which ones are great for wildlife. You will have the opportunity to put your questions to the experts and pick up some useful hints and tips on how to grow, store and use your own herbs.

A Shine Culture Night ‘Fundraver’ takes place on Friday, September 20 in the Limelight in Belfast. All proceeds from this event will go toward Musicians NI and Belfast Live’s Opening Eyes on Homelessness campaign.

Help Musicians NI is an independent charity for professional musicians of all genres, from starting out through to retirement. They help at times of crisis, but also at times of opportunity, giving people the extra support they need at a crucial stage that could make or break their career.
Homelessness remains a huge issue in Northern Ireland with the number of people sleeping rough in Belfast trebling in the space of a year. Belfast Live have partnered up with homeless charity The Welcome Organisation and over the coming months Shine will be Opening Eyes on Homelessness. The donation to Belfast Live’s Opening Eyes on Homelessness will help fund a new Street Outreach van for The Welcome Organisation that will be able to provide medical support to the most vulnerable on the streets of Belfast.

Repair cafes are pop up community events where people can get help to fix broken things.
A repair café will pop up at City Church in University Avenue on November 16.
Donations are welcome in return for any repairs.
This is a great initiative and you can bring along anything that’s broken and volunteers might be able to help.
