What should you do with your dog when a new baby arrives in the home?
If you want to know the answer to this and more, then the Merchant Hotel is the venue for a seminar which aims to help you ease your dog into this new experience. It is hosted by Lucy’s Trust and Owenbeg Dog Behaviour.
Anna Barron (veterinary surgeon) and Susan Finlay (canine behaviourist) will provide the information you need to keep everyone happy at this time. The talks will also cover how to keep your child safe through toddlerhood and growing up.
The event is ideal for expectant mums and dads, parents with young children, grandparents, aunts and uncles, or anyone who will be in charge of a dog and a child at the same time.
Those interested are encouraged to attend both days. Week one will focus on pregnancy and small babies, while week two concentrates on the situation with toddlers and young children.
Dates – March 22 and 29 – both events begin at 2pm.

Shorts for Shorties is part of the Cinemagic festival and it will take place at the Ulster Museum on Saturday, March 21.

West End Has Faith is a group of Christian professional singers working in musical theatre. As well as the music, they’ll be sharing their own stories and speaking about the work of Tearfund’s partners in Uganda.

The Heart and Soul of Portrush Tasting Tour returns for 2020. This event celebrates the flavours and culinary delights of the coast.
Participants will embark on a 4.5 hour walking tour of Portrush’s only craft beer brewery and finest gastronomy establishments, visiting four venues ,sampling the freshest, award-winning, local produce. This tour is about getting together and sharing food, drink, experiences and stories.
Tours take place on 28 February, 1 May, 26 June and includes the Portrush Atlantic Hotel for dinner.

Newry City Library is hosting a new Micro:bit workshop on Monday 17 February from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Young people aged 7 to 11 years are invited to take a step into the world of coding using micro:bits. The micro:bit is a handheld, fully programmable computer which can be used for lots of creative activities from robots to musical instruments.
This workshop, facilitated by the Nerve Centre, will introduce participants to coding and how the micro:bit works.
