Spinning Yarns is a two-day festival celebrating the wonderful world of all things associated with wool and linen.
It takes place at Antrim Castle Gardens on Saturday, August 31, when visitors will have the chance to see a colourful showcase of creativity and craft associated with these homespun yarns.
The highlights will include a Market Place with a wide range of traders, both local and from further afield, craft and gift stalls, displays, workshops and demonstrations. There will also be a range of artisan food and drink as well as children’s entertainment.

Lagan Valley arts centre is holding My Generation Saturday Workshop as part of the Children’s Arts Festival. It’s a workshop for children up to the age of three and it will introducing them to a new world of creativity. More information is available online.

Small Worlds workshops are café-style events hosted by members of Belfast Friendship Club. There is one coming up on September 18 for Antrim Civic Centre.
Table hosts will share their personal perspectives about how they’ve coped with their lives as migrant workers, asylum seekers and refugees. Participants can have a meaningful encounter with others whose lives are very different from their own.

A new stress control programme has been organised for Carrickfergus and Larne and it’s being run by The Northern Health and Social Care Trust.
‘Stress Control’ is a six week, self-help course aimed at people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or depression, anyone who is experiencing stress, knows someone who is, or just wants to be better equipped to deal with stress.
The classes will be delivered by staff from the Northern Trust’s Psychological Therapies Service. Over 886 people have attended classes, learning a range of new skills to help them manage stress.

Belfast Pride Festival takes place from Friday, July 26 to Saturday, August 3. There is a full programme of events, including the Pride Village and the parade.
The festival keeps growing as do the numbers coming out to support the community in their quest for equality. Belfast Pride 2019 promises to be bigger again, staying grounded in community while making noise for change and celebrating the LGBT+ citizens of Belfast.
One of the events is a cabaret and film night at the Strand Cinema.
The 2014 film ‘Pride’ will be screened with proceeds from the event going to Belfast Pride. There will be cabaret to get things going with Lady Portia Di’ Monte and Onya Becks from 7.30pm to 8.15pm, followed by Pride screening at 8.30pm. Tickets are £12.50 including free cocktail.

Larne Flower Show and Summer Fair Artisan Market take place on Saturday, August 17, from 1pm to 4pm.
The annual Mid and East Antrim Flower Show has blossomed into a wider event and now incorporates an artisan summer market in the Market Yard.
There is a competition running and there are categories for every skills level.

This annual festival is organised by Portglenone Enterprise Group.
