The Ballyclare May Fair is on this week and there is plenty for the whole family. The highlight this week is the soapbox derby. The Ballyeaston Road will be closed from 5:30pm to 8:30pm to allow the race to take place but if you are coming from afar, there are plenty of designated parking facilities. Cars should not park on the Ballyeaston Road during the day to allow for set up. The fair closes on Saturday night with a firework display at 10:15pm.

This Friday and Saturday (May 24 and 25) at the MAC in Belfast, it’s the 50th anniversary of The Beatles. As well as playing Abbey Road in full, a team of instrumentalists will play plenty of Beatles material from the same era including songs from Yellow Submarine, The White Album and Let It Be. Musical Director of the show, Donal Scullion has led other recreations of classic works including the Velvet Underground and Nico and Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks.
