‘I’ve got a text!’ – If that sentence immediately makes you think of a villa in sunny Majorca, then congratulations, you are a Love Island fan. And whilst we get a summer of entertainment from watching the show, there are plenty of benefits contestants get as well, one of the most important being fame (and love, of course)
With that in mind, Top10Casinos.com sought to find out which Love Island UK contestants have become the most famous from being on the show. To find that out, Top10Casinos.com looked at Google search volumes for each contestant, across all Love Island seasons, to see which Islander is the most searched-for on the web.
The data reveals that the most searched-for Love Island UK contestant is none other than Zara McDermott, with approximately 95,000 people around the globe searching her name on Google monthly. The 24-year-old beauty appeared in season four of the show and, although she got dumped on day 25, she clearly won the hearts of the public.
In second place we have Maura Higgins. There are approximately 88,000 people around the world looking up Maura’s name on Google every month. Tommy Fury fights his way to third place with 76,000 people around the globe Googling him monthly, overtaking his Love Island love, Molly-Mae Hague, who can be found in seventh place and is Googled by 37,700 people monthly. However, with a love story like theirs, everyone knows they’re the true winners.
In fourth place we have Chris Hughes, the 24-year-old farmer from Cheltenham, and third season superstar, with 65,000 people searching his name on Google monthly. We can find his Love Island partner, Olivia Attwood, in eighth place with 35,000 people searching for her name monthly. So, although they didn’t find love together, they definitely found fame.
In fifth place we have Dani Dyer (49,000 monthly global searches), followed by Megan Barton Hanson in sixth place (40,000 monthly global searches). Undoubtably, the second season of Love Island was one of the most dramatic, and Zara Holland was there to feel it the most after the former Miss GB lost her crown because she slept with fellow contestant Alex Bowen on the show. Although many seasons have passed since, Zara Holland remains very popular with the public who look her up 31,000 times a month.
Lastly, in joint ninth place with Zara Holland, we have Georgia Harrison who took part in the third season of Love Island and is looked up by 31,000 people around the globe monthly.
