Woman in 80s left shaken after traffic cone is thrown through living room window

A woman in her 80s has been left ‘shaken and upset’ after a large traffic cone was thrown through her living room window last night (Sunday). Substantial damage was caused to the property at Coronation Road at around 9:50pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident. They believe the cone was taken from works on the Victoria Road.

They say young people were seen playing with the plastic barriers and cones at around 9:30pm.

“I believe the cone used was from this area but nothing has been captured on any CCTV in the immediate area that I have been able to check,” said a police spokesperson.

“The victim just wants to offer the suspect the opportunity to apologise and pay for the damage. It doesn’t surprise me as after only speaking to her for a short time it’s obvious she truly is a lady that cares about her community and those within it. I ask you to help us help her,” added the spokesperson.
