Police have praised the man who raised the alarm after witnessing a woman jump off the Craigavon Bridge in Derry.
The incident happened today (Saturday) at around 5:20pm. The caller stayed on the line to help and direct the emergency services.
Within minutes, Police, Fire Service, Ambulance and Foyle Search and Rescue were on scene and were able to get the lady to safety, say police.
“We would like to thank the member of the public who stopped and dialled 999 and our colleagues in the emergency services for another speedy and successful rescue,” said a police spokesperson.
