A peaceful protest is once again being staged at this year’s Crawfordsburn hunt on New Year’s Day.
North Down Sinn Fein is calling for people to meet at the front of the Old Inn carpark on January 1 at 10:30am.

Last year a Green Party organised anti-fox hunt protest attracted around 200 people, with the numbers growing each year.
It is understood last year’s event was a ‘drag hunt’, which means that hounds chase a scent rather than a living fox.
Currently Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK which has not outlawed fox hunting.
Hunting with dogs is not illegal, but various organisations including the League against Cruel Sports has called for the bans to be extended here.

Thousands still take part in hunts across Northern Ireland every year, but according to polls, the number of people showing support for a ban is growing.
