Motorists with iced up windscreens can try this new life-hack involving a sandwich bag and warm water.
Daniel Harris has posted the video on Facebook demonstrating his solution and it has since gone viral, with social media users saying it works as well as de-icer.
“Hot water in a food bag and bam you’ve got a de-icer and a hand warmer. Works a treat, and it’s fast…I used warm tap water so I could safely hold it and lower the risk of cracking my screen.”
Note that pouring hot water onto a frozen windscreen can cause your windscreen to expand and crack – or make any existing cracks much worse.
