Boojum has come under fire for a social media post depicting Jesus emerging from a tomb with a reference to a burrito.
‘When the only think worth rising for is a Boojum’ the advert states.
In the image, the character is quoted as saying: ‘Yeooo! I knew I smelled Boojum!’
Some have questioned whether the company would joke about religions other than Christianity. The company has been accused of being ‘insensitive.’
The comments included:
“Who is doing the marketing for @boojum_belfast? Seems a tactless approach to getting the word out about your Easter opening hours…”
Very offensive especially with the timing and world events. Any plans to mock any other religions? Apology would be appreciated.
Insensitive & crass attempt at advertising!
There's only one cure for a two day sesh! ??
