‘Why does it take a 29-year-old’s death to get to this point?’

Around 600 mourners have packed St Anne’s Cathedral for the funeral of journalist Lyra McKee.

There have been emotional scenes as people crowded the streets to pay tribute to the talented 29-year-old writer and journalist.

Politicians and clergy from across the religious divide took part in the service.

A call was also made for people to come forward with information about the shooting in the Creggan in Derry/Londonderry. Lyra was gunned down as she covered rioting in the city last Thursday night.

Fr Martin Magill condemned the lack of government at Stormont during his homily.
