Police are treating a fire which broke out at a block of flats in Dundonald last night as arson.
Two men and two women were rescued by the Fire Service from the flat at Rosneath Gardens.
The incident happened at around 9.40pm last night (Sunday, January 12).
Police say the front door of the property was sprayed with a flammable liquid and set on fire.
Detectives investigating the fire are appealing for information.
Detective Sergeant Cargin said officers attended the scene, along with firefighters who brought the blaze under control and extinguished it.
“The NIFRS has ruled this to be deliberate ignition, and so we are treating this as arson.
“Thankfully there were no injuries however there was damage caused to the front door,” said the Sergeant.
Enquiries are continuing and police are keeping an open mind as to motive at this stage.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number CCS 1600 of 12/01/19.
