One person has tested positive for coronavirus in Northern Ireland.
The Public Health Agency has held a media briefing this evening (Thursday).
Chief Medical Officer Dr Michael McBride said the patient had come from northern Italy via Dublin. He said the patient had contacted a GP and had self-isolated.
The person has been taken to an isolation unit in Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.
The Public Healthy Agency said the person diagnosed wasn’t on a school ski trip. The gender of the person has not been confirmed.
Meanwhile, a risk assessment on St Patrick’s Day parades and other gatherings is to be carried out across Ireland in the wake of the outbreak of coronavirus in other parts of the world.
