The motorcyclist who died following a one vehicle road crash at Spa Road in Ballynahinch yesterday afternoon (Thursday 16 April) was Matthew Stuart.
The incident happened at around 1:10pm.
Police say Mr Stuart left the road and tragically lost his life at the scene.
Inspector Brian Mills is appealing for information.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and captured the incident on their dash cam to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 990 16/04/20,” he added.
Mr Stuart who was 36 was originally from the Ballynahinch area.
