A number of parked cars had their tyres slashed in north Belfast yesterday (Wednesday)
The incidents happened at Somerdale Road, Kesketh Road and the Crumlin Road.
Police are appealing for information following the criminal damage.
Sergeant King said shortly after 10:30am, it was reported to police that a white Audi A1 Sport, a blue Ford Focus Zetec and a blue Mazda 2 TSR parked at Somerdale Road had their tyres slashed. It is not known when these incidents took place.
And shortly before 11:25am, it was reported to police that five vehicles – a silver Citroen C4 Cactus, an orange Renault Captur, a red Vauxhall Vectra, a black Nissan Micra and a black Volkswagen Polo – had their tyres slashed while parked on the Crumlin Road.
The incident is believed to have occurred between 6pm on Tuesday (21 April) and 6am on Wednesday (22 April).
Three youths dressed in dark clothing are believed to have been in the area at around midnight.
At around 2pm, it was reported to police that a silver Toyota Yaris parked at Hesketh Road had its tyres slashed. It is believed this may have occurred overnight.
“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, we are investigating a possible link between these incidents.
“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in any of the areas in which the reports were received by police, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 508 22/04/20. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” said Sergeant King.
