Cars destroyed in arson attacks in Ballycastle and Bushmills

Cars have been destroyed in overnight arson attacks in Ballycastle and Bushmills.

In the first incident, two masked men smashed the windows of a blue VW Bora in Boyd Court in Ballycastle then ‘placed something inside’ and set it alight, according to police.


The car was completely destroyed and a car parked beside it, a blue Skoda Rapid, was also damaged during the incident.

It was reported to police at around 1.35am.

And shortly after 9:50am on Wednesday (16 September), police say a car was found completely destroyed at Isle Road area in Bushmills. Police are working to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage. Police are not investigating a link between either of these incidents and a report of arson which occurred in the Leyland Drive area of Ballycastle on Tuesday 15 September.
