Two men, both aged 38, have been charged with assault on police in relation to an incident in north Belfast.
One of the men has been charged with five counts of assault on police and one count of resisting police. The second man has been charged with three counts of assault on police and one count of resisting police.
The men are both due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on 19 March. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges follow a report of concern for safety for a man yesterday afternoon (Friday, 19 February) on Cliftonpark Avenue in north Belfast which police responded to and during which officers sustained injuries.
