The Ulster Unionist Party`s West Tyrone candidate, Councillor Chris Smyth, says the result in the West Tyrone By-Election demonstrates that confident, progressive Unionism is very much alive in West Tyrone.
Councillor Chris Smyth says he will continue to stand up for the innocent victims of terrorism and to represent the future of unionism.
“I want to thank every single one of my voters and all my supporters for the incredible support I have received. I look forward to building on this result in the future. The work starts now,” he adds.
He increased the share of the vote from 5.2% to 8.3% on the 2017 Westminster Election.
