A teenager who was walking in the Mourne Mountains with a group of other young people, was injured after he was apparently hit by a sheep that had fallen off a crag.
The incident happened on Slieve Bearnagh at about 4:15pm yesterday (Friday).
The youth was walking near Hare’s Gap when the sheep fell from the crag and hit him.
The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team said it received a request for assistance from an injured walker.
The teenager was assessed and treated for a range of potential injuries including head, neck, back, abdominal and leg injuries.
He was stretched off the mountain and taken to the Ulster Hospital.
The sheep is not believed to have been injured.
