The security alert in Velsheda Court in north Belfast has now ended.
Army Technical Officers examined a suspicious object in the area and have declared it to be a hoax.
All roads in the area have reopened and evacuated residents have returned to their homes.
Ardoyne Community Centre, in nearby Herbert Street, was opened for residents who had to leave their homes.
The incident caused ‘significant’ disruption according to community representatives.
