A house in Ardoyne in North Belfast was petrol bombed on Sunday night.
The attack happened in Estoril Park just before midnight.
Detective Sergeant Kitchen said police received a report that a petrol bomb had been thrown at the front window.
The fire was extinguished but scorch damage was caused to the window frame.
No one was injured.
“Our investigation is underway and I would ask anyone who was in the area or who may have noticed any suspicious activity or has dash cam footage that can assist us to contact 101 quoting reference number 2173 05/06/22,” said Detective Sergeant Kitchen.
