A man made off with drinks cans in an armed robbery at licenced premises in the Shore Road area of Newtownabbey this morning (Friday 21 August).
The incident happened shortly after 11:30am.
Police say a man entered an off-licence in the area armed with a suspected firearm. The man then demanded a female staff member open the till, but she refused.
The man made off with a number of drinks cans following the incident and headed towards the Gray’s Lane area.
The man is described as wearing a black hooded top, jeans and white trainers.
Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 664 21/08/20.
