Young people set off bangers at the War Memorial in Ballyclare over the weekend, causing distress to residents in the area.
This is one of the incidents of anti-social behaviour that police in the area have had to deal with.
Police say not only is this highly disrespectful, but there were also a number of parents with young children and dog walkers in the area. One parent had to take her autistic son home to give him a sedative as he was so distressed, according to police.
Antrim police also dealt with youths causing a nuisance and lighting fires.
“If property is damaged, or they hurt themselves or someone else, we will not hesitate to prosecute.
“I’m sure the parents out there are thrilled to know that the summer holidays are fast approaching, and hopefully the last few days are an indication of how the weather will pan out,” said a police spokesperson.
Police meanwhile say they are currently investigating a number of incidents at Mossley Train Station.
“I’d like to take this moment to appeal to you to have a chat with your older kids before they head out with their mates. No-one wants to spoil their fun, but we’ve already had a few issues with Anti-Social Behaviour this weekend,” added the spokesperson.
However, police have praised the good behaviour of some young people they encountered.
