Be aware of scammers trying to access your Amazon Prime

An ‘Amazon Prime’ scam is the latest in a series of fraudulent attempts to gain access to personal information.

The householder will receive an automated call claiming they’ve been charged for Amazon Prime and the caller will advise them to press 1 to cancel the transaction. However, this will connect the householder to scammers who will then use gain access to the accounts using remote access.

The PSNI and Scamwise are warning people in the area not to be duped into following the instructions.

“If you get a call like this, hang up and follow the advice described in the image below,” said a spokesperson.
