Discarded, broken bottles and the remnants of burning pallets have been left at Rathcoole play park after a night of anti-social behaviour.
Police say it was a busy night during which a young girl who was very drunk was taken home to her parents.
One young person was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs.
Another youth was arrested for allegedly using disorderly behaviour.
A large quantity of alcohol was also seized by police.
It comes as complaints have been made by residents across the Newtownabbey area in relation to drinking, drug taking and anti-social behaviour.
“Last week our antisocial behaviour patrols were a graduated response to local neighbourhood issues in areas where the decent people of Newtownabbey have complained about on street drinking, drug use and criminal damage.
“Tonight (Saturday) we have deployed in a similar fashion to continue to reinforce the message that the community does not deserve to suffer this sort of behaviour from a mindless minority making life a misery for others.
“It will not be tolerated,” said a police spokesperson.
And police are issuing yet another warning to parents.
“I am disappointed to say that Rathcoole play park was left with discarded, broken bottles and the remnants of burning pallets. This is an area where kids play and dogs are walked!
“Parents, please have a word with your teens. We get no pleasure in taking them off the streets. It’s a last resort, but attitudes need to change,” added the spokesperson.
