A toddler is reported to have died in a ‘domestic’ stabbing incident at an isolated farmhouse in Magheramorne near Larne.
The Air Ambulance and emergency services attended the scene on the Bankhall Road in Magheramorne shortly after 10am this morning (March 2).
A baby is understood to have been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by Air Ambulance. A woman in her 30s, understood to be the mother, is also being treated for injuries.
East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson said this is ‘profoundly sad incident.’
“My thoughts are with all concerned and the close knit community as they come to terms with the trauma,” he added.
The investigation is at an early stage and police are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
