The co-pilot of the China based Sichuan Airlines flight had a lucky escape after almost being sucked out of a window, half an hour after the plane took off.
The captain managed to land the aircraft safely after the cockpit windshield blew out.
Captain Liu Chuanjian told the Chengdu Economic Daily his aircraft had just reached a cruising altitude of 32,000 feet when a deafening sound tore through the cockpit.
He said the cockpit experienced a loss of pressure and drop in temperature and when he looked over, the cockpit’s right windshield was gone.
