People of Northern Ireland who want to extend their sympathies to New Zealand residents following the deaths of 50 in a murder spree can sign a book of condolence today (Sunday).
Everyone is welcome to come along to the New Zealand Honorary Consul at 3pm to sign the book. Refreshments will be provided. The consulate is situated at 57 Park Road, Belfast, BT7 2FX.
Meanwhile, the man charged over Friday’s twin mosque attacks in Christchurch is believed to have acted alone, police say.
Australian Brenton Tarrant, 28, a self-described white supremacist, live-streamed the attack on Facebook.
Three others arrested afterwards are not believed to have been involved, Police Commissioner Mike Bush said.
Tributes have been paid to those who died.
The Police Commissioner has praised police in Christchurch for their quick response to the attack.
“I can tell you that within six minutes of police being called … armed police staff were on the scene,” said Bush, who was speaking at a press conference today (Sunday).
