Arts and crafts chain store Hobbycraft is opening this week, creating 18 new jobs.
Hobbycraft Newtownabbey will be opening at the Longwood Retail Park near the Abbey Centre today (Wednesday).
Plans are also under way to create a second store in the Belfast area which will create a further 18 jobs.
Staff will be skilled in knitting, crochet, sewing and papercraft and will be on hand to help with shopper queries. The shop will also feature a crafting area which is designed to inspire shoppers as well as encourage them to try out products and techniques.
On Saturday 2 November, the new store will be opened by colleagues with a customary ribbon cutting. The first 100 customers in store will also receive a free goody bag.
The first store opened in Dorset in 1995.
