Police once again had to deal with crowds of up to 100 youths who were drinking and causing a nuisance in the Ballysillan area of Belfast last night (Saturday).
The young people, aged from approximately 12 years up to 16 years, appeared to have been drinking, and police say they were causing a major safety risk to themselves and to residents in the streets around Tyndale.
“Police would remind these youths and their parents that this drunken and at times criminal behaviour will now be dealt with by arrests and be taken through the Criminal Justice system
“By all means enjoy your parks and good weather but do it safely and with respect to those who live in the area,” said a spokesperson.
Police have had to consistently remind parents to be aware of where their children are at all times. Anti-social behaviour has been an on-going issue in north and west Belfast in recent months.
