A suspicious object discovered in Cookstown during a security alert has turned out to be an old decommissioned grenade.
The security alert began at Lissan Road this afternoon.
Police and army technical officers were tasked to examine the object.
It has been removed.
Lissan Road has now reopened and residents have been able to return to their homes.
