A woman was assaulted in Greenisland, Co Antrim, on Sunday night.
The incident happened sometime between 10pm and 11pm.
A man was seen hitting a woman whilst the pair were walking in the vicinity of Station Road, Glassillan Grove and Rossmore Green.
A passing pedestrian challenged the man and police are keen to speak with this person.
