Police are urging people NOT to flock to the beaches as the weather becomes milder this weekend.
As tempting as it is with the sunshine, they say you are putting yourself and others at risk.
Special powers have been introduced, allowing the PSNI to enforce social distancing rules as Northern Ireland prepares for an increase in COVID-19 cases.
Police will disperse gatherings of two people or more and issue on-the-spot fines to those found to be in breach of the rules.
Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd said: “We have received reports of people visiting Tyrella and Murlough beaches, and Newcastle town in County Down today (Saturday 28 March).
“The public should be well aware of the advice from our public health partners and the Government about social distancing and movement and, on that basis, we would encourage people not to drive to local beauty spots for their daily exercise as others may have the same idea and social distancing may not be achievable,” he said.
Health Minister Robin Swann has reiterated this.
The Minister said: “The weather forecast is good for the next few days but I would really urge everyone to resist the temptation to head out and socialise.
“We have to maintain the fightback against Covid-19. That means every one of us staying at home and regularly washing our hands thoroughly. Only leave home if it’s absolutely necessary and, if you have to go out, keep your distance from others,” he said.
“This is about protecting yourself, protecting others and protecting the health service.
“For the sake of everyone you care about, don’t take a chance this weekend.”
