A dog has reportedly has its mouth tied and has been weighed down with a plant pot and placed inside a plastic bag, before being thrown in Camlough Lake near Newry.
It’s understood an off duty dog warden discovered the dog in the lough near Keggall Road whilst he was on a fishing trip.
The dog will be checked for a chip to see if it has been stolen.
The graphic photos show the dog’s mouth tied and its body is surrounded by a plastic bag which also contains a plant pot.
“Someone knows this dog. Someone knows the dog is no longer around. He/she may have been stolen – however we need to find out where the dog came from and let the correct authorities deal with it from there,” writes an admin for Lost and Found Pets North Down/Ards & Surrounding Areas/ Rescue & Rehoming.
The pictures and details of the death of the dog have led to public outrage.
