A motorist managed to escape when two men tried to get into a car in Portrush last night (Saturday 21 December).
Detectives are currently investigating the report of the attempted hijacking at Crocknamack Road.
The incident happened just after 11pm.
Police say a red Volkswagen Golf had stopped to turn left on the Crocknamack Road, when two men approached the vehicle which was being driven by a woman.
The men tried to gain entry to the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver and passenger out, however the woman drove off from the scene, according to police.
The driver and passenger were not injured but were left badly shaken following the incident.
Detective Sergeant Wallace is appealing for information.
“We continue to appeal for information following these incidents and anyone with any information should contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2166 21/12/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added the Detective Sergeant.
