Eight deaths and 896 new cases of COVID-19

Eight further people have died as a result of COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.

There are 896 new cases.


Meanwhile around 311,000 people in the province are waiting for a first appointment with a consultant, according to new figures.

The statistics from the Department of Health cover the period April to June 2020, when the pandemic was at a peak. During that period, the number of people waiting for a first appointment rose 4,000 to 311,090.
