First walk-in vaccination day in Belfast

It’s the first walk-in COVID-19 vaccination day at the SSE Arena, Belfast.

Further localised initiatives are planned across Northern Ireland.

More than two million vaccine doses have now been administered here.

This includes first and second doses.

The Department of Health said that 80% of the adult population have received a first vaccine, while close to 60% are ‘fully vaccinated’.

First dose vaccinations are available for anyone aged over 18, who lives in Northern Ireland and is registered with a GP.

The centre at the SSE Arena in Belfast began taking appointments at 8.30am this morning. It is open until 6.30pm this evening.
