A man was taken to hospital and a woman was injured in an assault in the North Queen Street area of north Belfast yesterday (Saturday 6 November).
Detectives are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary which happened shortly before 1.30pm.
The PSNI says two women and a man, armed with a hammer, had gained access to the property and assaulted a-24-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman who were inside.
Both sustained injuries during the assault and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Two women and a man, all aged in their 40s have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody at this time.
Detective Sergeant Moore is appealing for witnesses.
“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information in relation to it, to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference 776 or 06/11/21.”
