A householder sustained serious injuries after being hit on the head with a bottle after three men pushed their way into the property in north Belfast.
The assault happened at a house in the St Aubyn Street area around 4:30am this morning (Sunday 2 June).
Detective Sergeant Conlan said the male occupant and his friend were in the property .
“The occupant sustained a severe injury to the side of his head after being struck with a bottle, and is currently receiving treatment in hospital. His male friend was punched and, although uninjured, was also left badly shaken.
“A mobile phone was stolen during the incident,” explained Detective Sergeant Conlan.
It’s believed the suspects are aged around early to mid-twenties. One is believed to have been wearing a white tracksuit jacket with blue stripes on the sleeves and dark tracksuit bottoms.
“We are appealing to anyone with information, or anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area around that time, to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 510 of 02/06/19,” Detective Sergeant Conlan.
