Parents of children and young people are encouraged to be aware of possible disturbing videos featuring a character from the horror game Poppy Playtime.
The character named Huggy Wuggy is from the survival game Poppy Playtime, but has appeared in viral videos on YouTube, having bypassed parental controls due to its seemingly innocent name. It also appears on TikTok.
The content has raised concerns amongst parents, police and safeguarding professionals.
The animated character Huggy Wuggy chases and threatens other characters in nightmarish scenes which have left children upset and frightened.
Huggy Wuggy has also been recreated on popular game Roblox.
There have been reports of children recreating the game in the school playground by acting out the characters’ intentions and whispering inappropriate things to other pupils.
Parents are asked to be vigilant.
