Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is in Northern Ireland on a two-day trip.
He’s urging the UK and Irish government to work together to save powersharing in Northern Ireland.
In a speech in Belfast today (Thursday), Mr Corbyn will urge Prime Minister Theresa May to reconvene the British Irish Intergovernmental Conference.
Sinn Fein and the SDLP have been calling for the re-establishment of the conference, which last sat in 2007.
Northern Ireland has been without a powersharing government for more than 16 months due to a stalemate between the DUP and Sinn Fein.
Mr Corbyn will also use his speech at Queen’s University to highlight the fact that Labour will not support a Brexit deal that results in a hard border.
