A 25-year-old man is due to appear in court tomorrow (Thursday) on charges arising out of the attempted theft of an ATM machine from a service station in Ballynahinch.
The man has been charged with burglary, criminal damage endangering life with intent, and aggravated vehicle-taking causing damage to property.
He is due to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Thursday 21 November).
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Detectives have also arrested a 22-year-old woman in relation to this investigation on suspicion of handling stolen goods and attempting to pervert the course of justice. She remains in custody, assisting police with their enquiries.
